Brush Your Way to Health and Beauty
Imagine a simple morning routine that not only invigorates you, but also improves your health and appearance.
You can get these benefits from dry brush massaging, which is essentially the practice of massaging your dry skin with a special brush. You can try the different grades available inexpensively from Amazon but choose one that has at least two types of bristles to get the most benefits from the dry brushing. There is a large variety of sizes available. I particularly recommend dry brush massaging if you suffer from excessively dry or flaky skin because it removes the top layer of dead skin, leaving it smooth, soft, and younger-looking. And it feels relaxing, too!
But there are many other benefits to this therapy, including:
► Enhanced circulation. Dry brushing helps stimulate blood flow throughout your body.
► Improved immunity. Dry brushing stimulates the lymphatic system, which helps your body drain toxins out. It also lightens the burden of excess waste on your liver, spleen, and other organs.
Most Women Suffer From Cellulite Issues
► Lessens the appearance of cellulite. While it won't completely make cellulite disappear, dry brushing can eliminate the toxins in the fatty layers of your skin that cause the unsightly dimpling.
► Improved muscle tone. Along with its cellulite benefits, dry brushing encourages fat cells to distribute more evenly throughout your body, therefore improving the appearance of your muscles.
How to Dry Brush Massage
Holding your brush, stand in the shower without turning it on.
You want to do this massage on dry, not wet, skin. Before you start, remember that you always want to massage toward your heart to help stimulate your body's lymphatic and circulatory systems.
Begin at the soles of your feet, using light pressure to brush your skin in small, circular, clockwise motions. Then move to the tops of your feet, then your ankles, shins, calves, thighs, and buttocks. If you have cellulite, you can pay closer attention to those areas by giving them extra strokes.
Next, move to your abdomen, then to your arms by starting with your forearms and moving to your upper arms. When you get to your shoulders, start brushing downward across your upper chest so that your movements continue to move toward your heart.
Finally, dry brush your back. When brushing your lower back, use circular motions that move up toward your heart. When you get to your upper back, brush downward toward your heart. This whole process shouldn't take more than a few minutes. And you can even do it 2-3 times a week.
When you're done, simply turn on your shower to wash away all the dead skin. I encourage you to try this incredibly easy and indulgent exercise to rejuvenate your appearance and overall health!
I hope you're enjoying the warmth and beauty of the season!
