Self Quiz: Do You Have Fibroid Tumors?

Fibroid tumors are one of the most common causes of heavy and irregular menstrual bleeding in women in premenopause. It is related to estrogen dominance and is one of the most common reasons for hysterectomy in our society. If you suspect that you have fibroid tumors, you may want to take this self-quiz. Symptoms of Fibroid Tumors:

  • Spasmodic/stabbing menstrual cramps and pain.

  • Premenstrual pain up to two weeks prior to onset.
  • Pain in inner thighs.
  • Abdominal tenderness.

  • Headaches.
  • Sleeplessness.

Risk Factors

You are at higher risk of developing fibroids if you have any of the following risk factors.

  • Career or working woman.
  • High-stress life, combining work and child care.
  • Age twenties through forties.
  • Multiple pregnancies.
  • Tendency toward ovarian cysts that bleed.
  • Mothers or sister with a history of fibroids.
  • High levels of estrogen as determined by your physician, or use of estrogen-containing medication.
  • High levels of prostaglandin hormones as determined by your physician.
  • Repeated laparoscopies.
  • Significant life stress.
  • Emotional distress that hampers well-being, anxiety, depression.
  • Concurrent immune stress, recurrent or chronic infections, allergies.
  • High dietary intake of meat, saturated fat, dairy products, alcohol, sugar, caffeine, salt or chocolate.
  • Lack of B vitamins.
  • Lack of exercise.
