Alternative Cancer Treatments And The Best Options Against Cancer

A Cutting-Edge Cancer Protocol

The Gonzalez Regimen

When it comes to cancer research, if one researcher comes up with an idea that manages to loosen mainstream purse strings, many other cancer scientists quickly jump on that same bandwagon to get in on the funding frenzy.

A tragic side effect is that scientists with alternative approaches to cancer are usually left to fend for themselves for research dollars. Their ideas and concepts also, unfortunately, get written off as being unimportant, even though some of these doctors are among the most creative and brilliant minds in the world with potentially great advances in treating cancer.

Whether you're dealing with a cancer diagnosis already, or wisely looking for ways to prevent cancer, I want to keep you informed about what some of the best-educated, conventionally trained mainstream scientists have come to believe about cancer, and why they have chosen to focus their research on alternative approaches.

Nicholas J. Gonzalez, M.D., was one such researcher. (Sadly, he passed away from a cardiac arrest.)

Here's an overview of his work. Dr. Gonzalez is a graduate of Cornell University Medical School and a famous cancer researcher and clinician at New York's Memorial Sloan Kettering Institute.

During his formal training in medicine, his special talents and dedication got him noticed and singled out by a string of highly regarded researchers who became his mentors. Thanks to his extraordinary education and his ability to select the best aspects of his mentors' research and expertise, he created the Gonzalez regimen—a refined alternative cancer treatment protocol that has yielded amazing results with all kinds of cancer.

The Gonzalez regimen is currently being investigated in a large-scale, National Cancer Institute–funded, randomized clinical trial at New York's Columbia University.

The study compares the Gonzalez regimen to conventional chemotherapy in the treatment of one of the deadliest cancers, pancreatic adenocarcinoma, which kills roughly 98 percent of its victims within a year of diagnosis (Alternative Therapies).

A Combination of depleted soils, environmental toxins, processed foods, and bad dietary habits can be blamed

Here are the main hallmarks of the program:

1. Diet and supplements. The program starts with a premium organic diet and top quality supplements that are tailored for the individual's metabolism based on hair analysis and other tests.

Dr. Gonzalez and other researchers, including myself, believe that poor nutrition—due to a combination of depleted soils, environmental toxins, processed foods, and bad dietary habits—is at the root of today's cancer explosion.

The foods we choose to eat can either fuel our good health or fuel illness by contributing to the accumulation of toxins that impair normal physiologic functioning and weaken our innate cancer weapon: our immune system.

How Enzymes and Detoxification Can Play A Cancer-Proof Part

2. Pancreatic enzymes are the centerpiece of the protocol. When taken in high doses, they actually kill cancer cells. this program, the enzymes are taken between meals so that they are absorbed into the circulation instead of used to digest food. Once absorbed, they digest foreign proteins, such as cancer cells, deformed cells, waste materials, and toxins.

The use of pancreatic enzymes to treat cancer is based on the Trophoblastic Theory of Cancer, which was reported nearly a century ago by English cancer researcher Dr. John Beard.

This theory was largely ignored during Beard's time, but it has gotten new respect and a new name: the Cancer Stem Cell Hypothesis (Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine).

Let me give you a brief overview.

Upon conception, humans start off as a single cell that divides into two cells, then four, then eight, and so forth, until they become a blastocyst—a hollow 5-day-old ball of cells.

The embryo lives inside the ball, surrounded and protected by the outer "skin" called the trophoblast, which eventually develops into the placenta. The stem cells of the trophoblast are invasive and proliferative—they move their way into the tissues of the uterus and spread, which is how the placenta attaches to the uterus.

Also, those trophoblastic stem cells are exempt from being attacked by the immune system so that the placenta can continue to invade, attach, and grow.

As the pregnancy progresses and nears its end, however, the trophoblast cells normally lose their invasive properties and their exemption from being attacked. By then, the fetal pancreas has begun secreting digestive enzymes of its own, which circulate in the placenta and digest those trophoblastic attachments so that the baby can be born.

At birth, all trophoblastic elements are supposed to be gone. But the cancer stem cell theory states that in the fourth or fifth day of embryonic life, a few trophoblastic stem cells might have stayed behind to become part of the embryo inside the hollow ball, instead of migrating outward to become the placenta.

These cells retained their invasive skills and their "immunity," which potentially give them the ability to, later in your life, invade and spread in your tissues as a number of different kinds of cancer. Because of their special privileges that make it harder for your immune system to recognize them as an "enemy," the best way to defeat them is to digest them the same way they were handled during late pregnancy—with supplemental pancreatic enzymes.

3. Detoxification.

To help sweep toxins and damaged cells from your body after enzyme therapy, the protocol adds twice-daily organic coffee enemas. The caffeine in the coffee is absorbed into your gut's portal vein and carried to your liver, where it stimulates a bile "dump" from your liver's bile ducts.

This keeps your major detox organ clean and working smoothly, and it gives your immune system a much needed boost.

For other ways to detoxify your liver, you can read my detox article here.

This three-point protocol uses nutrition, digestive enzymes, and detox to support and restore your inborn ability to defeat cancer, rather than to use surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation to kill cancer cells and seriously weaken you and your immune system in the process. Dr. Gonzalez reported that at least 80 percent of his cancer patients who comply with his protocol were typically still thriving five to 10 years later, well past the conventional oncologist's definition of "survival."

The key is that the patient must comply with the assigned treatment, which isn't easy. However, it's worth the trouble.

In an earlier report of 11 inoperable pancreatic cancer patients on the Gonzalez regimen, nine were alive at one year, five were alive at two years, four were alive at three years, and two were still alive at the time of the report—one at three years, and one at four years (Nutrition and Cancer).

With pancreatic cancer, those levels of survival are unheard of. And in a recent animal study, mice with pancreatic cancer survived significantly longer when treated with pancreatic enzymes ( an example of what you can take. (Pancreas).

I will periodically tell you about other pioneers in complementary medicine who have made strides in their fields that even the conventional medical community has noticed. If you're interested in learning more about Dr. Gonzalez and his foundation that still carry on with his work, visit
